Mindfulness is a way of responding to yourself and your world. Mindfulness can be described as the central leadership competency.
Those you lead need you to be centered, energized, receptive and focused. At the core of your leadership is your state of being. As a leader, you perceive your world through this state and you transmit your state to others. If your state of being is clouded or compromised in any way your leadership will be affected. If you feel distracted, scrambled, anxious, fragmented or tense then your qualities of thinking, feeling, intuition, empathy, and relating will suffer. Your decision-making and your actions may also be compromised. It’s often the way we relate to our self in relation to the situations we face that undermines us and not the situations themselves. The potency of your leadership is your attention and your ability to keep yourself grounded and your ideas fresh. Your attention springs from the quality of your awareness. Mindful leadership allows leaders to engage at the level of awareness, from which all actions flow.
The Mindful Leadership Learning Group meets for 2.5 hours, once a month for 10 months and costs $1,450 plus GST per person.
Venues will be meeting rooms provided by the group’s members in their organisations.
The Facilitators Stephen Archer and Tim Roberts have decades of experience in mindfulness, leadership development and organisational dynamics. They work with leaders and teams.
