Outline

The eight week programme provides a continuity of practice, time to talk with other participants about one’s experience, personal goal setting, incentives for behaviour change and skills for increasing self-reliance.It is a process that requires daily commitment and regular weekly attendance. The results come out of this process rather than as objectives within themselves.

The programme consists of a 1 hour orientation session followed by 24 hours of mindfulness training in the form of eight 2-hour weekly sessions and a full-day (8 hour) workshop. The sessions will be divided approximately equally between practical exercises and teaching and reflection time. The full-day workshop offers a context to deepen learning through more sustained group practice. Each participant will be invited to give 30 minutes a day to complete tasks between sessions using a workbook and instruction CDs to assist home practice.

We measure our results, have systems in place to manage clinical risk are able to offer one on one support for course participants should it be needed to assist them to complete the programme.
